As a Church we take data protection and your privacy seriously and we always aim to abide by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and have a registered Data Protection Officer. Our Reference with the ICO is: C1105440.
Please contact us if you have any concerns/queries regarding data protection and we will be happy to discuss these with you.
As a NEW visitor to Church, we do have a new visitors information card which we may ask you to complete. This is of course voluntarily, and you only need to fill in the details you are happy to give to us. Your personal information will be held securely (physically and electronically). We will NEVER sell or pass on your personal information to any third party without your explicit consent. The main use of the information from the new to Church visitor card will be to send you a follow up/welcome email from Church.
We will only send occasional emails, mainly about upcoming Church events that you may be interested in. You are welcome to "UNSUBSCRIBE" at any point from our emails by replying back to us with the word unsubscribe.
In order for us to claim "Gift Aid" from any donations you may give to us, if you pay Capital Gains Tax, or Income Tax we give you the option of completing (signing) a Gift Aid Envelope with your name and address. You only need to complete this envelope once. Your details will be held safely (electronically) in order for us to process Gift Aid Payments. Your physical giving envelope will securely stored for the legal six years that Charities need to keep records for Charity Commission audit purposes and will then be physically destroyed/shredded.
Church does have a CCTV system that is filmed. CCTV is only used for your safety and as a deterrent/a crime preventative measure. As we are located on a busy industrial estate and Church is not occupied for large periods of the week. Unless requested by the police, only Church staff/trustees have access to the CCTV system recordings.
We do film our weekly meetings and broadcast them LIVE onto our Facebook page. 99% of the time the camera is focused on the stage and on our worship and preaching. Please come and talk to us if you have any concerns about being filmed and we will try our best NOT to film you.
We also have a Consent form that we ask parents/guardians to sign, to let us know if they are happy for us to use pictures/film children in Church and we will always respect your wishes/consent with any children in Church under 18 years old.
When people volunteer in certain ministry areas within Church - for example within "Overcomers" our Children's Church, or "Radical Youth" our Youth Ministry we will ask those volunteers to provide us with their personal information (ID etc) as part of the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) process that forms part of our safeguarding process. To ensure the safety of children/vulnerable adults within Church.
Again, please contact us if you have any concerns/queries regarding data protection or any of the issues above and we will be happy to discuss these with you.
